Staying at our cottages

Q ~ Are pets allowed in the cottages?
A ~ We're sorry to say that pets are not allowed in Eilean Mor cottage. One well behaved dog or cat is allowed in River cottage. We point out that, although River cottage is thoroughly cleaned after each visit, people with allergies for pet hairs might experience inconveniences when staying in River cottage.

Q ~ Is there an additional charge for bringing a pet?
A ~ Yes, we charge and additional £20.00 per week for bringing a pet.

Q ~ What is included in the rental?
A ~ The rental includes electricity, heating, towels and bed linen.

Q ~ I would like to stay a midweek or a long weekend. Is this possible?
A ~ Both cottages are let on a weekly basis with change-over on Saturday, however given availability we will try to accommodate your specific requests. Please contact us with your requirements.

Q ~ Is smoking allowed in the cottages?
A ~ Both cottages are no-smoking holiday homes.

Q ~ What do I do in case of an emergency?
A ~ Both cottages have a list of important telephone numbers, e.g. medical services, fire alarm, police etc.

Arrival & departure

Q ~ At what time are the cottages available upon arrival?
A ~ Both cottages are available from 4:00 pm on your day of arrival. If you plan to arrive later than 6:00 pm, please let us know. This allows us to make appropriate changes to our schedule, if necessary.

Q ~ When do I have to vacate the cottage?
A ~ We kindly ask you to leave the cottage before 10:00 am on your day of departure to leave time for cleaning for the next guests.

Q ~ Where do we pick up and leave the keys?
A ~ In the confirmation email of your booking you will find all relevant information like address, travel directions and key pick up procedures.

Q ~ How do we get there?
A ~ You will find directions to both cottages from the Skye bridge here.

The cottages

Q ~ Do both cottages supply a washing machine and tumble dryer?
A ~ Yes, they do.

Q ~ Do both cottages supply a freezer?
A ~ Yes, they do.

Q ~ Is off road parking available?
A ~ Yes, both cottages have their own private access with ample parking.

Q ~ Do the cottages accommodate for wheelchair access?
A ~ Both cottages are traditional Highland cottages and are unfortunately not suitable for wheelchair access.

Enquiries, reservations and bookings

Q ~ How do I make an enquiry, a reservation or a booking?
A ~ Enquiries, reservations and bookings can be made either through our online availability calendar or by contacting us.

Q ~ How do I secure my reservation?
A ~ Upon receipt of your enquiry we will send you an email with instructions regarding payment of your deposit. The receipt of your deposit confirms your reservation. Bookings can be made by telephone, letter or email. As we advertise in different ways the booking will only be firm when confirmed by us to avoid any conflict. We advise early booking to prevent disappointment. Using the website's online enquiry is the fastest way to make a reservation / booking.

Q ~ When do I have to pay my deposit to secure my reservation?
A ~ A deposit of 25% of the rental is required to confirm the booking. Please make sure that we receive your deposit within two weeks of your reservation.

Q ~ When do I pay the remaining balance?
A ~ The remaining balance of 75% is due six weeks before your arrival date. Please note that international payments may take up to two weeks to appear in our bank account.

Q ~ I have made an enquiry within six weeks of my arrival date. What do I do?
A ~ We kindly ask you to pay the full amount within two weeks of your reservation. You do not need to pay a deposit.

Tariff and Payments

Q ~ How do I make payments?
A ~ Check out the information on the payment procedure and the payment options we offer.

Q ~ The website only shows tariff for the current year. We're planning our holiday for next year. What are the tariff for next year?
A ~ We publish the new tariff generally in October of the current year. Please contact us for information.
